Frequently Asked Questions

*And Answers!*

How do you know that I have unclaimed funds?

Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, we search various governmental sources to look for assets / money that has not been returned to their rightful owners or heirs. When we find people who are owed money, we try to locate and contact them to obtain their permission to work on their behalf to recover these monies. So, if you have received a letter from us indicating you are owed money by the government, chances are extremely good that you are that person. We just need to further authenticate and confirm ownership, to the entity holding your funds and start the claims process.

Why should I retain your services?

Two words : Experience and dedication, not to mention contingent fee-basis. We have experience in research, discovery and claims of money that is owed by the government. We also have the dedication, the resources and the incentive to recover the money on your behalf. Since we work only on a contingency basis, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by retaining our services.

What are your fees?

We work with our clients on a contingency basis. Which means we only charge a small percent of the money we claim and only after it's claimed for you. So there are no out of pocket costs. If we don't claim the money there's nothing you owe us.

How come you are contacting me and not the government agency holding the funds?

Good question! They may have tried to contact.... but they have only so many resources and not that much of a determination to find you and give you the money! One of the ways the agencies try to "contact" for example, is by publishing notices in prominent area newspapers. Now, what are the chances of your purchasing this particular newspaper, in the locality where it's published, on the day or days they decide to publish the notice, going to the relevant section, finding your name on it and then acting on it?!! We won't attempt to answer that question!

We, on the other hand have dedicated resources and time to research, locate and claim the funds owed to you.

What do I need to do to verify and claim my money?

It depends. If it's money that has your name on it, it may be a simple matter of authenticating your identity and then claiming it. If it's a case of inherited assets (again money or the value of the assets) and you are an heir, the documentation requirements may be extensive. But the good news is, we will worry about all that. We will work with the agency involved, find out exactly what is required and request the same from you in plain English and work with you and the agency until you have the money in your hands.

How long will it take to recover my money?

It can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to 90 or 180 days, depending on the type and complexity of claim. For a simple unclaimed, liquidated asset that is in your name, the length of time to claim will be on the shorter side. If it involves, securities, probated property money etc, the time involved to claim will be on the longer side. But regardless of whether it's a simple process or a longer process involving various verification documents, we will make the process as painless and straightforward as possible.
